At the heart of Dr. Katherine’s approach is a deep understanding of how movement, alignment, and nervous system function work together to support whole-body health.

Intentional Care Rooted in How the Body Works

Meet Dr. Katherine Halper

Life is so very short. I want humans and animals alike to have the ability to feel good and be healthy so their lives have fullness.

My theory

.

I grew up in southern Idaho on a small farm, learning how to love and care for animals. In doing so, it became the fabric and foundation of who I am to my core.

I believe that God gives us all unique callings and desires and mine has always been the need to help animals and humans with their health.
I grew up wanting to be a veterinarian first and foremost but dreamed of also being in a position to help humans. As someone who grew up competing and riding horses, we got our horses adjusted and they always felt and moved better afterwards. This helped transform my goals of being a veterinarian, to a chiropractor.

Speaking for myself, the time I get to have with my dog and horse is the time I reset and recharge myself and the time I feel most at peace. As animal owners, we want what is absolutely best for our animals. We want their happiness and we want them to feel their best. This is how we care for them, and in return, they bring us absolute joy.

Chiropractic is designed to improve nervous system balance and regulation.

Health Philosophy

Animals are one of life’s greatest gifts. They bring companionship, purpose, and joy, and they ask very little in return. Because they give so much of themselves, they deserve care that supports their comfort, health, and well being. I believe it is our responsibility to care for our animal partners with the same dedication they show us everyday.

I have been around animals since I was a young child. I grew up riding horses with my mom and she introduced me to Western Pleasure, English Pleasure, Trail, Horsemanship and Ranch Riding.

I work with a wide variety of animals including dogs, horses, cats, cows, sheep, and goats, from pasture pets to competitive athletes.

As a Doctor of Chiropractic, continuing education is required every year. I also spend time learning from owners, trainers, and participants at events to continually improve how I serve my patients.

I've always had a knack for animals.

Will chiropractic care replace veterinary care?

Yes. Chiropractic care is safe when performed by a licensed chiropractor who is properly trained and certified in animal chiropractic. Care is gentle, specific, and tailored to each individual animal

Is chiropractic care safe for dogs and horses?

Dogs and horses experience physical stress from training, competition, work, aging, and daily activity. Over time, this can lead to stiffness, soreness, compensation patterns, or changes in behavior or performance. Chiropractic care helps support comfort, mobility, and proper movement.

Why does my dog or horse need chiropractic care?

Common signs include stiffness, uneven movement, resistance during work or under saddle, soreness, difficulty bending or turning, changes in behavior, or slower recovery after activity.

What signs indicate my dog or horse may benefit from chiropractic care?

Each appointment begins with an evaluation of posture, movement, and joint function. Adjustments are gentle and specific to the areas that need support. Post treatment recommendations may be provided based on the individual animal’s needs.

What happens during an animal chiropractic appointment?

Yes. Idaho and Oregon currently require a veterinary referral prior to receiving chiropractic care for animals. This helps ensure chiropractic care is provided safely and appropriately as part of a collaborative care approach.
